Large loop scissors can be operated using the thumb and finger or just the palm. Only require a gentle squeeze to start cutting. Scissors will open if gently releasing the grip. Easy for children to start learning to use scissors. Suitable for children with a weak hand grip, poor hand control or motor difficulties. Doing cutting practice with small loop scissors can build a stronger hand grip and improve distal motor control. Children with smaller palms are suggested to grip closer to the blade on the loop while older children or children with more mature scissors skills can hold further back on the loop.
